The Gallery for our visit to Godrevy in April is now available.
We were hoping to go to the Cornish Cyder Farm in May, but because of Health and Safety issues they could not allow us to paint in the orchards.
Paint Away Days will visit Godrevy near Hayle again in May. Those of us who went did manage to get outside to paint for part of the day, but it was cold and in the afternoon we were rained off. There is still plenty for us to paint so we all agreed we would like to go back again. We will be based at the cafe, and will meet there at 10am, with the usual finish time around 4pm.
Godrevy has a variety of possible views, with the lighthouse, dunes, beach and sea. There are also good rock pools on this section of the beach.
The Paint Away Day venue for 14th June will be Wheal Martyn China Clay Country Park. There are quite a lot of different things available here as subjects including the largest working waterwheel in Cornwall, vintage vehicles and locomotive, nature trails and woodland walks. Something for everybody.
We shall be based in the conference centre at Wheal Martyn.
Thank you to those of you who have offered pictures for the exhibition at The Well Cafe and Craft Shop, Cubert.. It will be put up on the 14th May, so anybody attending the Paint Away Day at Godrevy can let me have their pictures then. If this is not possible please contact me and other arrangements can be made.
Any body who has taken part in a Paint Away Day can submit one or more pictures on any subject or medium, painted at any time. I am not limiting this to Paint Away Day subjects only.
As with the website I will not be restricting the paintings to "only the best", if there is space all the pictures will have a chance to be hung. It is only if there are more pictures than space available will there be a selection and this will be decided to give the best variety of subjects. So even the less experienced artists will have a chance to see their picture up on the wall.
It is hoped to get some newpaper publicity for this exhibition.
If you would like to submit paintings please make sure they are framed and ready to hang, and if they are for sale what you would like to sell them for. Please remember that the cafe will take a commission, so decide on the price you would like to receive and the commission will be added on top of this.
This is the first exhibition we have had and I hope that a number of you will be able to provide artwork, otherwise I will have a large space to try and fill by myself!
