We were very lucky today, rain and showers were forecast with thunderstorms in the late afternoon or early evening. Instead we had a dry day but a bit breezy. It was only two days after Hurricane Gordon passed and the waves were still good for surfing.

The Surf Live Saving Club House provided an ideal base with it's picture windows and balcony to work from, and we will be back again during the winter months as we can all stay in the warm and still paint the view.

The surfers added interest to the view, but the cliffs and sea were the main interest for us. The sun on the cliffs gave contrasts in light and shade, whilst the sea colours ranged from grey to turquoise.
