The Gallery for our visit the Tate St Ives is now ready for viewing. Apologies to one of the artists as the photograph of the painting was so out of focus it is not included. Sorry about that.

Wave breaking at Portreath.

We will be going to Portreath again on 16th February, using the Surf Life Saving Club which is on the beach. This is a time when we can hope for bad weather as we get good views across the beach and sea from indoors. The Gallery has images of our previous visits. If 4 people decide to participate the cost will be £10 each, and if more come then cost will be less. Unfortunately if less than that book I will have to cancel the venue, but we will visit Cubert instead.

If we have to cancel the visit to Portreath then Cubert will be the alternative venue. Our last visit to Cubert was cancelled in December due to bad weather. We will have access to the Church and with the better weather it might be suitable to paint outside as well. Also half a mile down the road towards Holywell Bay there is a view over the golf course looking down to Gull Rocks. Our base would be The Well Cafe in the centre of Cubert, and this time it will be open so drinks and lunch can be bought here.

In March Paint Away Days will visit Trewithen Gardens near Probus. This garden has a collection of camellias, rhododendrons, magnolias and rare trees, and woodland walks. (The house does not open till April.) Plant collectors in the early 20th Century brought back seeds, many were successfully cultivated and can now be seen within the garden.

Trewithen means "house of the trees" very apt with 30 acres of woodland gardens and more than 200 acres of surrounding parkland.

Costs for each Paint Away Day are detailed for each venue on the information for the location page. See General Information for guidance to costs.
